Bentley: “Hey Pierre! Guess what we are celebrating today.
Pierre: “Is it my happy
birthday? Do we get cake?”
Bentley: “No, it’s not your
birthday. Today is George Washington’s birthday.”
Pierre: “Ummm, is there cherry
pie? I’m good with some cherry pie ala
mode. Woo Hoo! I love pie.”
Bentley: “There is no
pie. I was just pointing out that while
it is not your birthday, it is our first president’s 283rd birthday.”
Bentley: “Dude, he’s been
dead for over 200 years! Anyway, that is
not what we are celebrating. The country celebrated his
birthday last week on President’s Day. It
is National Walking the Dog Day. We need to get in at least a mile walk today
to celebrate. I’ll go tell Mom and Dad,
so they can get ready.”
Pierre: “Hold on just a
second. It is pouring down rain. We can’t go for a walk in this mess. Look, it’s Be Humble Day. We can
celebrate being humble. Let me just
Google it here and read what it says…’having
or showing a modest or low estimate of one’s own importance.’ Well, that definitely doesn’t sound like
us! Bahaha!”
Bentley: “It’s hard to be
humble when you’re a Hound. Do I need to
mention Westminster again? Oh, look! Here’s something that suits us
perfectly. It’s International Thinking Day.
If anyone needs us, we’ll be here having deep thoughts.”
"Cherry Pie...I really wanted Cherry Pie Ala Mode."
"Mom looks busy, maybe I should go mooch a belly rub."

I love the idea of thinking day! Bailie and I are all worked up as there was a wabbit at our front window when we came downstairs at 6 this morning. I will close my eyes and think about catching the wabbit and about you naturally ;)
ReplyDeletePierre, I could go for some cherry pie too!
ReplyDeleteWe just want the a la mode part. :)
ReplyDeleteThinking of Cherry pie and Belly Rubs are GOOD thingys to contemplate.
ReplyDeleteAWWW, those are great pics. Momma said she just wants to plant a big kiss on both of those noses! I hate it when she does that to me.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder what deep thoughts my dogs are thinking sometimes. I have a feeling you may be right about belly rubs -- and maybe a game of fetch for my Tucker.

What's a birthday with no pie!
ReplyDeletenice warm pie sounds like a great way to celebrate to us :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a something for everyone day! It's too bad you couldn't have a walk though, or cherry pie. Deep thinking is always good sometimes too, when there's no pie or walks anyway.

BOL! So many days in one! I am happy to say that we happened to have honored National Walking the Dog Day (albeit unintentionally), because today was the first day where the snow melted enough for me to actually take a full walk around the neighborhood with my Papa! YAY! It was a little wet, but the sun was out and it wasn't so cold today, so we made it to the outskirts of our favorite park (which is unfortunately still buried). Soon enough... SPRING!! Thank warm thoughts, guys! *wags* - Gilligan from WagsAhoy.com
