There
is not much that excites me more than a new puppy. It has been seven years
since Bentley was a bouncing boy stepping on his own ears and four years since
Pierre came into our lives. Never fear
though, I am now the proud Grandmother of two new little four-legged bundles of
joy. Paisley is my son’s six-month old chocolate
Labrador Retriever. Our newest addition
is Pierre’s baby sister Clementine. She
is only eight-weeks-old and is a German Shepherd/Husky mix. As the “Gramma” it is my duty to not only
spoil them, but to answer emergency questions like “Why does she bite my feet?”
and “How do I get her to love the kennel?”
These are important things to know when you bring home a squirming
curious pup. After all, you only get one
chance to get their first year right! Thankfully,
Purina® has provided a great new
website to find these answers. The best
part is that it is free and very user-friendly.

This is her puppy picture but now at six months, Paisley is now at 75% of her adult body weight. |
Purina Puppy Chow® has always been synonymous
with happy puppies and they are now introducing Puppyhood.com. I was given
early access to the site for the purpose of this post, but it will be available
for everyone later this month. There are
so many awesome features to explore and I had a blast discovering each of
them. You can take a virtual dog walk
through three different areas and find “Hot Spots” with tips on puppy training,
puppy nutrition, and puppy grooming. You
can also find hidden bones. It is so
much fun!

Little Clementine has a lot of growing and learning ahead of her. |
Once
registered for Puppyhood, you immediately have access to a milestone tracker, expert
advice, and puppy perks. You can
download a checklist of puppy accessories and supplies that you will need. Haven’t decided on a puppy yet? They can help with that too. There is Puppy Planning tab with a breed
selector and a link to your local Petfinder for rescue and adoption. You can also enjoy their name generator to
find the perfect fit for your newest family member.
Let
Puppyhood.com serve as your one-stop shop to help you survive and thrive during
that all-important first year. Remember
one of the keys to raising a healthy pup is providing complete and balanced
nutrition. Purina Puppy Chow offers a
unique blend with high-quality protein, plus DHA and essential nutrients that
are found in mother’s milk. They are
concerned about your new puppy’s health and care. That’s why they are offering puppy advice and
information at your fingertips.
Follow
Purina on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
Be sure to tell them Barking from the Bayou sent you. Don’t forget to join Puppyhood.com later this
month. You’ll thank me for it.
One
more thing before you go, get a laugh with this hilarious YouTube video. If you have ever had a new puppy, you can
relate!
Aww that is so cute. This makes me want a puppy again! Belle is still our puppy, even though she's not "technically" a puppy. She missed out on the first two years of her life in a home with someone who just did not care for her or let her be a puppy. I love that she gets to be a baby again with us!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE this Melissa!! You know I was cheering you on!! I just loved Chloe's puppy years and they go by so fast!! Great review! Congratulations on ALL the new little four legged family members!!

ReplyDeleteYour grandbabies are beyond adorable. When all of life seems to head toward the crapper, there's nothing that makes everything just fine more than a squirmy bundle of puppy breath! :) Hug those babies for Sam and me.

Another grand-puppy!! You are so lucky, and what a cutie! That sounds like a great website. There are always so many questions when you have a puppy especially if it's your first time, or if it's just been a long time!
