Taking Bentley and Pierre for a walk is one of the highlights of our day. They enjoy getting out of the house and exploring while we enjoy spending quality time with our best friends. The problem is that Pierre tends to enjoy his walks a little too much. Bentley can’t wait to sniff everything that we pass on our journey so it is usually me pulling him but not Pierre. He is a spitfire on the end of a leash. This leads to a lot of pulling to get us to go where he wants to go as fast as possible. That is why I was so excited to talk with the PetSafe® representatives at this year’s BlogPaws™ conference. They had the EasyWalk® Harness on display so I asked a ton of questions.
They offered us our very own PetSafe Easy Walk harness. We were beyond ecstatic! These harnesses come in a variety of colors including a reflective style and are available in 8 sizes. It’s made of a soft nylon and has 4 adjustment points for maximum comfort. Your dog will notice the difference.
Have you ever had your dog gag or choke with a regular collar or top connecting harness? It is not just scary; it is dangerous for your pet. According to this article by Dr. Peter Dobias, “one ‘jerk’ can cause a lot of damage.” You will find the article to be an eye-opener. This just reinforces the idea of the Easy Walk harness. When your dog pulls, they will feel a slight tightening across the chest and shoulder blade. This helps keep them on the straight and narrow path.
Fabulous Features
• Quick-snap buckles on shoulder and belly straps for easy on & off
• 4 adjustment points for maximum comfort and reliable fit
• Martingale loop in chest piece prevents twisting
• Comfortable and easy to fit
So, how did Pierre do with his new Easy Walk harnesses? I can sum up our walking experience in one word…WOW! It was better than I expected. Instead of constantly pulling to get ahead, Pierre walked nicely beside me. The instructions provided will help you introduce and train your dog to enjoy their new harness. So, make your next walk an Easy Walk by PetSafe.

We use harnesses too. Momma says Finley used to make awful duck noises from "sled-doggin" when she walked wifout one.
ReplyDeleteBailie is the "sled dog" at our house, but with age, she is getting much better. There are some good no pull harnesses out there.
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all
ReplyDeleteSo glad Pierre likes his harness.

We are serious pullers and the Easy Walk did not work for us. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteOur mom said we have to learn to NOT pull. Mom says I do good 75 percent of the time.

We're glad Pierre enjoys his walk with that wonderful harness. Purrs
ReplyDeleteI tried some front clip harnesses, including this one, but didn't care for them. Something in the way my dogs walk just caused a lot of jerking which was annoying. I had to just work on training with them instead, and with the girls getting older they have at least slowed down some.
ReplyDeleteCricket used to be just like Pierre, so I know what you're dealing with, and I'm glad this is working for you!

I use a harness on Sam. When I first got it, I thought I was weaving cornrows but then I finally figured it out and it makes life so much easier that keeping my shoulder in a permanent sling. 😊
ReplyDeleteLove this harness. We gotta try it!!
ReplyDeleteBuddy and Merci have calmed down a lot as they've aged. Nothing deters Marcus's energy. She bought him a Halti harness and HATES it!
ReplyDeleteI am SO glads it worked for you Pierre! Apparently, peeps don't likes their arms pulled out of their sockets! BOL!!! This harness actually made me pull MORE! Can you believes it??! Ma couldn't believes it either, butts her arm was sore for two days after trying this harness. She found another kind of harness called a Slip Harness that she has to get from Australlia! It's the only thing that works for me. Never a dull moment with MOI ! hehehe

With a Husky in the house, We'd be in big trouble without our Easywalk harness! This is one of our most valuable possessions!

I tried a harness on Sherman once and he refused to walk which is weird because he walks just fine with the backpack on!
ReplyDeleteTallulah walks with the Gentle Leader by PetSafe. Mommy says it's a miracle. We tried a harness, but found that controlling Miss Tallulah Bee's head is the key to happiness. We may have to try this version of the harness. People always think Tallulah's wearing a muzzle with Gentle Leader. The other day a lady asked, "Is she a bad dog." Mommy replied, "Oh, she can be a very bad girl, but she's not dangerous!" ;-) And then, as she does at least once a week, she explained the concept of the Gentle Leader. :-)
ReplyDeletewonder if they'll ever offer something for kitties ...?
ReplyDeleteWe recommend those at the clinic.
