They
also gave us tickets to see the hilarious dog comedy show, Mutts Gone Nuts. (We raised some awesome kids!)
The show was Saturday,
March 3 at the Cullen Theater/Wortham Center in Houston. Driving into the city
is exciting. There is so much to see and since it was the weekend, traffic wasn’t
bad.
Houston
has a large theater district where you can see a ballet, an opera, a Broadway
touring play and even a zany rescue dog show!

Mutts
Gone Nuts has appeared all over the world since beginning in 1985 by the comedy
duo Scott and Joan Houghton. The
show was filled with incredibly talented rescue “Mutts” along with their
trainer Samantha Valle. Jonathan Burns is the comedian that
keeps the show going during prop changes. Y’all, we were howling with laughter at
him. I had tears running down my face every time he was on stage. If he ever
appears at a college or comedy club near you, do not miss him! Of course, if
you get the chance to see him in Mutts Gone Nuts, that’s even better.

You
might be wondering about the dogs when they aren’t working. I was happy to know
they are regular house dogs living with the Houghtons. The dogs became part of
their act after they began fostering for a local rescue group in their off
season. They use practical reward-based training and I saw lots of treats being
handed out during the show. It is obvious the dogs love performing.
We
had a wonderful afternoon at the theater and look forward to seeing another
show soon. The Mutts Gone Nuts tour includes venues across America. I highly
recommend it for a seriously funny good time! Follow the show on Facebook.
