3. It’s spring allergy

4. It’s fall with the
flu season.
5. I’m so tired.
6. I’m so busy.
7. I have to cook

8. There are so many
other people out walking. I hate having
to stop and talk.
9. Isn't there a smog
alert?
After
all the reasons you can think of for NOT
walking, you’re left with 27 minutes on April 15th at 9:42a.m. IF it’s not raining. Oh wait, that’s U.S. income tax day. It’s impossible to enjoy a walk on tax
day. Oh well…sorry Bentley.
There
are just as many dog reasons why you should snap a leash on your best
four-legged
friend and take a walk.

wonder of nature or peeing on nature if you’re a dog.
5. You can meet your
neighbors or other dog lovers.
6. You can set an
example for other dog owners.
7. Don’t make it seem
like a chore. It’s is high point of your
dog’s day.
8. If you are having
one of those days where nothing goes right, walking your dog is guaranteed to
make you feel better.
9. Walking will make
your dog calmer at home. Unspent energy

we are hearing it is too cold a lot at the moment :)
ReplyDeleteBentley, what an awesome post! Excuses are such a bad thing. We do our long walk or run before breakfast in the morning so there are no excuses. Walking is so much fun, it is sad so many dogs don't get out and walk much or at all! Thanks for hooking up with the hop today! Happy trails!
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha! Excellent list of reasons!

It is easy to find excuses for not walking, but once we get out there and get walking, we're always glad we did. Unfortunately, right now, it is too cold to walk for very long, but we're doing our best to get out there every day even if it is only for a few minutes because Barley needs to get out there and check out all the smells outside of our yard!
ReplyDeleteThere are definitely a million excuses not to. I love walking my huskies! I love going through the parks and down by the rivers. Plus I always meet people out there who want to talk about my dogs, and hey, i'll use any excuse to talk about them! haha!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Well said! Our New Year's resolution is to stop making excuses for not walking/exercising...though I get walked several times a day plus playtime, Ma and Daddy-dog need to do some exercising of their own. BOL They have been good so far...BOL

Very true, about the excuses and also all the reasons to just get out there and walk. I know it's the high point of Toby's day. We try to take him for at least a 45 minute walk, preferably on an off-leash trail where our 2 miles is at 3 miles of running back and forth for him. Since I retired I also think the outdoor time has helped my mood during the winter months. That said, I really dislike going out in this cold but it's Toby's favorite weather..
ReplyDeleteIt is so easy - I'm sure that list of 10 reasons NOT to walk could be expanded to 100 with all the excuses people comes up with...but just look at that smile on Bentley's face - that's worth it!
ReplyDeletevery nice post to me the only reason not to walk is heat with our pugs and bulldog, they just can't handle very hot or very cold temps

We're getting ready to go for a run in about half an hour. No excuses!

ReplyDeleteThese are excellent thingys you have listed... Good Job...
I need this for those icy, dark and snowy mornings!
ReplyDeleteExcept for Marcus we're all older and Jan hasn't walked us since Wednesday because it's just too cold! She has finally reached the age when walking in the bitter cold is too much for her - and us.
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteGreat points, Bentley!

Mr. N is so sad (and unbearable) when we don't walk, so we go!
ReplyDeleteGreat points!
ReplyDeleteYour excuses not to walk had me laughing out loud. Great photos, and great reasons TO walk!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the I gotta check pinterest! Great reasons to walk your dog! I sent in my fitness photo to blogpaws :)
ReplyDeleteMom was looking very guilty as she read over all those excuses...because she has used all of them at least once!!
ReplyDeleteI gets TWO walkies everyday! (and still I'm chubby! ☺) Though, if it's raining or super duper foggy, Ma only takes me on one, cause she doesn't want to dry her furs twice in one day! BOL
ReplyDeleteI also run and jump playin' with my bubbles...life saver Ma says! It burns of that extra Terrier Energy
Plus, I drive Ma NUTS if I don't get walkies! Just a tip to other doggies out there...☺
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
We look forward to our walks! And having a dog is the best excuse to get out AND walk! I get some of my best ideas while out walking too! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI don't use it as an excuse, but your #8 made me laugh. I don't run into many people in my neighborhood walking, but they are sometimes out working in their yards. I like all of my neighbors, but one of them really likes to talk. I dread running into him, not because I don't like to talk to him but because I want to be walking, and it's hard to get away from him! Whatever dog I have is usually fidgeting and pulling too, because they also want to be walking! LOL
ReplyDeleteJan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
What a great list!! I love that you put both the motivation and the excuses together! I also love that last picture of Bentley, I will be sharing this for sure!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I am afraid some of the excuses apply to me. :)
