A Letter to Mom

Dear Mom,

   I hope that this letter finds you well. There is something on my mind and I thought it’d be better explained in writing. February is chock-full of holidays including Groundhog Day, Fat Tuesday, Valentine’s Day and President’s Day. You will notice that those are all single days and really have nothing to do with pets. Not to say that we don’t appreciate a little something on February 14^th. Just sayin’…

What I’d like to draw your attention to is that the

ENTIRE MONTH OF FEBRUARY

has been deemed
·        Spoil Your Pet

·        Dog Training Education

·        National Cat Health

·        Pet Dental Health

·        Responsible Pet Owners (Pets should still receive gifts)

·        Adopt a Rescue Rabbit

·        National Prevent a Litter

·        Unchain a Dog
Month

   While several of these celebrations do not necessarily impact me, a few are very important. Let’s shine a spotlight on that top entry. I love the sound of Spoil Your Pet Month! Pierre and I have been discussing some of the ways we would like to be spoiled.

·        Take us to a different location for our walks

·        Go shopping at PetSmart

·        Bake us treats

·        Turn your phone off when we play

·        Order some Dr. Harvey’s treats

·        Spa Day

·        We can just sit next to each other and relax

   I believe that should take us through the next few days for Spoil Your Pet month. If we think of anything else, I will add a P.S. later.

   That brings us to Dog Training Education. If the training is for great treats, I’ll entertain the idea. Let’s move along to Pet Dental Health. Yes, please continue to brush my teeth. A few breath bones wouldn’t hurt either. Responsible Pet Owner is on you. I think you do a fine job, but the belly scratches could be for a longer period of time. You sometimes seem rushed and frankly, I don’t receive the full benefits. National Prevent a Litter Month…thanks to that little trip to the V-E-T a few years back, Pierre and I don’t have to worry about being a puppy daddy. Last but certainly not least is Unchain Your Dog Month. I shudder to think of the dogs living their lives chained to a tree or doghouse. It is cruel and should be illegal. Promise that if we see one, you’ll say something. 

   February is a terrific month of holidays for humans and dogs, but mostly dog.
