If Your Dog Could Talk

I say "IF" dogs could talk but we both know that dogs do talk to those who choose to listen. I am re-posting this important list of
7 Things Your Dog Wants You To Know
7. I am a pack animal and you are my pack. Don’t leave me ignored outdoors. If possible, let me live inside with the rest of my family. I thrive on love and attention.
6. Take me to the vet at least once a year. I might act like I hate it but I love you. Annual check-ups keep me healthy so that we can live a long happy life together.
5. You have to teach me what you expect from me. Remember that I am not a human even if I am your baby. Take the time to train me in a positive manner.
4. Don’t YELL at me and NEVER hit me. My hearing is much better than yours so please there is no reason to scream at me. You trust me not to use my teeth to harm you. I need to trust that you won’t use your hands to hurt me.
3. Can you imagine not leaving the house or yard for weeks or months? There is a whole world out there and I’d enjoy exploring some of it with you. Let’s go for a walk or to the park.
2. It is a fact of life that I have to poop and I enjoy doing it in the grass. I don’t care if it is our grass or the neighbors, it is important that you pick it up for me. Seriously, I’d do it for you if I had thumbs.

1. Don’t phone it in. Spend quality time with me every single day. Playing will help keep us both young. It’s a wonderful way to show me that you love me as much as I love you.

  6. Awww, this is a great post - and all so true and so important. BTW, Misty and Timber prefer to poop in their own yard, on their own grass:) And silly Lightning always poops on the road when Mom walks, never on the grass. Mom walks on the street until she is out of our development and on the main road. But sometimes he just can't wait to get to the grassy treebelt:) Makes for a easier pickup for Mom, but she always feels dumb picking poop up off the street:)

  11. We can hear you boys saying those 7 things. And we hope your human hears them. (We know she does. )

  12. These are the best pieces of advice you can give a pet parent. I especially like #4, that's a good one boys! Great analogy. Our pets are precious commodities, a gift we are given in this life. We must cherish them.

  13. I'm sure my pups say these things but probably also say other things which are most likely not printable. Plus they're most likely in Yugolslavian just to keep me in my toes. Have a good weekend.
