A Look Back at 2018

As 2018 draws to a close, can’t help but reflect on all the things I’ve learned this year. It has been one of the most changing years of our lives.
We sold our home in Louisiana and moved to Texas. That meant cleaning out and going through 25+ years of stuff. It was overwhelming and cathartic at the same time. People must forget how stressful moving is because they do it so often. It’ll be some time before I forget. I did learn that we could not have done it by ourselves. You can read about the move in my post, “It Takes a Village to Move.”
The Bayou Boys reviewed some really cool products this year. We all have our favorites but by far the best discovery of 2018 was the Pet Genie. Read our rave review “How to Dispose of Pet Waste at Home.” The boys love our toy reviews and their favorite of the year has to be our toys from World Wise including the goDog and Hear Doggy toys. The Fabulous Furballz and How to Help Your Squeak-oholic Destuffing Dogs highlight two of them.
I learned some lessons the hard way. Our beautiful new furniture posed a danger that I hadn’t given much thought to until it happened. Check out “A Recliner Warning” and please share it with any pet parent that owns a recliner.
We have dealt with Pierre’s sensitive stomach for years. It has been hit and miss as we tried to figure out what was causing his problem. The problem reached its breaking point a couple of weeks ago when we thought we were going to lose him. I’m happy to report that he is 100% back to his amazing little self. His diet for the foreseeable future is a prescription canned food and very restricted. Absolutely no food from the table and only prescription treats. It only takes a small bite of something to set his tummy off so we are no longer taking any chances. You can read about his recent battle in “Our Poor Little Guy.” Thankfully, Bentley and Pierre are both healthy and happy as we say goodbye to 2018.
It’s our hope that gave you something to smile about on most days. One of our favorite funny post series were “TV Shows We’d Like to Watch” and “More TV Shows We’d Like to Watch.” We always have fun in Blogville and this year was no different. The boys enjoyed their time in “BBQ at the Amusement Park.” Next year we are planning on sharing many more laughs with y’all.
Our goal is to share tips and products that will help your dog or cat live their best life. We are planning on continuing the BFTB NETWoof News each Monday. It is one of our reader’s favorite and that makes us very happy.

I don’t know what 2019 has in store for us but I’m hoping it will be a wonderfully successful year. There will be some changes as we grow and explore our new surroundings. Look for more Texas travel and maybe some grandparenting tips thrown in every now and then. I have a feeling it is going to be a super 2019 on the Bayou!

  2. We don't have a recliner, so no danger for us. Overall we had a good year until that dreadful day that has really made a mess out of our home life, but we keep moving forward. Have a great weekend.
