The Wild, Wild Westie Show

Pierre loves to chase squirrels and lizards.  His pursuit of these elusive lizards plays havoc on my monkey grass.  He will sit at the back door and stare out until a lizard or squirrel is brave enough to enter his yard.  Then, it is like that wonderful old black & white television show:
The Wild, Wild Westie!

This is Pierre’s usual lizard stalking pose.

The lucky lizard gets awaythis time!

This is Sunday’s Black & White Blog Hop.
Thanks to Dachshund Nola and Sugar the Golden Retriever for hosting!

Please join me in hopping to these other great blogs!

  1. I have never seen a lizard in my life. Wonder if I could catch such one, if I saw one. Luckily for the lizard, probably not BOL.

    1. Wow, that is funny. We have lizards everywhere around us. Yes, you could probably catch one. They are pretty cool little creatures. : )

  2. Yikes! Has he caught them before? We see them in Florida, but Mom says if I catch one and put it in my mouth she will disown me. She doesn't like anything in the reptile family and thinks I would be contaminated or something :)

    1. Unfortunately for the lizards, yes. They wriggle so he usually just manages to grab their tails. They do grow their tails back but for a time after he came to live with us, we had several tailless lizard scurrying around! : )

    1. That is how he looks during hot weather when the lizards are out. If he doesn't have his head buried in the monkey grass, he is watching and waiting for squirrels. He is the mighty hunting Westie!
